Please note there is no Explorer Pass discount for this tour as it is a fundraiser for the church's tower.
First Saturdays at 11 AM:
The oldest congregation in the City of Buffalo, founded in 1812, First Presbyterian Church is rich with history that is intertwined with the rest of the city. Join us for an in-depth tour of this beautiful church and the tremendous history it contains inside.
Designed by prominent local architectural firm Green & Wicks, the present home of First Presbyterian Church on Symphony Circle was completed in 1897 when the landmark tower was finished. The exterior provides a dramatic end to Richmond Avenue opposite the Richardson Complex, while the magnificent interior is decorated in a rich Byzantine style.
This interior tour will highlight the spectacular stained glass in the sanctuary, particularly the many Tiffany windows and chandeliers.
All proceeds from this tour will benefit the First Presbyterian Church Tower Fund, which supports restoration of the church’s landmark tower.
