Explore Buffalo’s 2026 Inclusive Tours are made possible thanks to the generous support of The Audrey and Lawrence Silverstein Foundation at The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo.

At Explore Buffalo, we believe that learning about our city should be accessible, engaging, and welcoming for everyone. Our inclusive tours are designed to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students, adults, and groups with varying abilities.

Canalside with a ride on the Solar Powered Buffalo Heritage Carousel

Canalside offers an ideal setting for inclusive tours with wide pathways, open space, and opportunities for movement.

How We Adapt This Tour: 

  • Adjustable pacing with plenty of room for breaks
  • Short, engaging stops along the water
  • Option to focus on just a few key locations instead of the full route

Delaware Park: Explore History, Landmarks, and Art

You will enjoy Buffalo’s beautiful Delaware Park and will experience its natural beauty, architectural landmarks, and captivating art in the park.  We have collaborated with the Buffalo AKG Art Museum so all tours will go through the amazing Town Square in the museum.

Downtown Highlights

Discover the heart of Buffalo through an engaging, accessible, and welcoming experience designed for all learners. This inclusive tour explores the city’s most iconic landmarks—including Seneca One, the Ellicott Square Building, St Paul’s Cathedral and more—while adapting to the needs and interests of each group. This tour is mostly exterior and you will be traveling on city streets.

This tour is on city streets and can be adapted for wheelchairs although the sidewalks are uneven in many spots


Buffalo City Hall

City Hall isn’t just where decisions are made—it’s where community voices come together, and everyone has a place in the story of Buffalo.  This inclusive tour of Buffalo City Hall invites participants to explore how local government works while discovering the building’s stunning architecture and rich history. Stops may include the grand lobby, the Mayor’s Office, the Common Council Chamber, and the Observation Deck.

Hertel Avenue Murals

Explore the creativity and culture of Buffalo through a vibrant, welcoming experience in Hertel’s Mural Alley. This inclusive tour highlights the colorful public art tucked just off Hertel Avenue, where murals transform everyday spaces into powerful storytelling canvases.

Village of Lancaster

Step into the heart of Village of Lancaster on a welcoming, accessible tour designed for all abilities, learning styles, and interests.  This inclusive experience invites participants to explore the village’s rich history, architecture, and community stories at a comfortable pace, with multiple ways to engage along the way.
