Join us on this walking tour of the Village of Hamburg, one of the Buffalo area’s picturesque villages. A longtime center for the surrounding agricultural community, and the home of the Erie County Fair since 1868, Hamburg boasts a distinguished collection of residential, commercial, and public buildings. A recent streetscape improvement program has greatly improved the setting for a wide variety of architectural styles, from Italianate to Romanesque Revival.

Meet at the corner of Union and Buffalo Streets in the Village of Hamburg.

This tour is a collaboration between Explore Buffalo and Journey’s End Refugee Services.  Grant Street is a rapidly transforming commercial street, led by refugees and immigrants coming to Buffalo from around the world. On this tour, you’ll meet several refugees and recent immigrants who are making positive change in their neighborhood through small businesses. Their stories before arriving in Buffalo are far outside the origin stories of most Buffalonians. You’ve probably heard about bright changes happening on the West side – come have conversations with people who live and work there.

Fifty percent of proceeds from this tour will go to Journey’s End Refugee Services to support their ongoing work of assisting refugees to start new lives in Buffalo.
