Building Description: Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center moved into the former Asbury Delaware Methodist Church, now known as Babeville, and opened its art gallery and cinema to the public for multidisciplinary arts programming in January 2006, after working closely with the owners and their architects, engineers, and contractors on the adaptive reuse of this long-vacated historic building starting in 2003. This year (2024–2025) marks Hallwalls’ 50th anniversary, having started at 30 Essex Street on Buffalo’s West Side in December 1974. This is its fourth location.
