Architecture + Use Outreach Workshop
“My nephew was fully engaged and captivated by this program. He loves LEGOs, and it was a great teaching tool. He was so happy and proud when he came home describing to his grandmother how he came up with an idea and built a dog park.”
Let us bring the fun to you! Students will step into an architect’s shoes in this one-of-a-kind workshop where students work together to design a new building for their “client.” Whether they’re designing a doggy day care or a tiny house, your students will have tons of fun creating their buildings with LEGOs. Plus, they’ll learn all about empathic design, Buffalo’s fascinating architecture, and the connection between the built environment and human activity.
Cost: $8/student – includes all workshop materials. Please note: LEGOs are the property of Explore Buffalo; teachers will receive photos of students’ creations.
Time: 45 minutes – 1.5 hours (can be modified depending on the length of your class period)
Grades: 4 – 8
