Narrated Bus Tours for College Groups

Available All Year Round – only $20 per student!

Looking for a memorable way to welcome students to Buffalo? Explore Buffalo offers custom narrated bus tours designed especially for college groups. Our experienced docents step on board to bring the city’s history, culture, and hidden gems to life. Perfect for: International student orientation, prospective student visits, team building for student organizations and departments, and returning students eager to rediscover Buffalo.

What’s included:

  • 90-minute to 2-hour guided bus tour
  • Themes tailored to your group’s interests
  • Highlights of Buffalo, including Downtown, Canalside, Silo City & more
  • A fun, engaging way to build community while showcasing our great city

Cost: Just $20 per student
(with a minimum of $250 per tour – bus provided by college/university)

Unique Special Request Walking Tours

Available May-October – $15 per student
Some indoor tours available throughout the year

Make learning come alive with curriculum-based walking tours designed to highlight Buffalo’s architecture, art, history, and culture. Our docents lead students on engaging journeys that complement classroom studies. An interactive, affordable way to connect students with Buffalo’s living history and culture!

Available tours include:

  • Architecture Timeline – See Buffalo’s history unfold through its buildings
  • Masters of American Architecture – Discover the city’s connection to great architects
  • Presidents in Buffalo – Explore sites tied to U.S. presidents
  • Hertel Avenue Murals – Experience a vibrant outdoor gallery of community art
  •  Downtown Murals – Discover creativity through Buffalo’s public art

Tour Details:
Cost: $15 per student
Duration: 90 minutes
Capacity: 20-25 students per tour

Tour can be scheduled on day and time of your choice, pending docent availability.


Delaware Park: Explore History, Landmarks, and Art

Available May-October – $10 per student

Students will enjoy being in Buffalo’s beautiful Delaware Park and experiencing the natural beauty, architectural landmarks, and captivating art in the park.  Your students will hear about the park’s history, the exterior art installations, as well as the architectural significance of the AKG and the surrounding buildings.  Get an up close look at nature as you walk along the Japanese Garden, cross the Bridge of the Three Americas, and view Hoyt Lake.

Tour Details: 
Cost: $10 per student

Groups can choose from:
60 minute tours available on Monday, Thursday, or Friday
75-90 minute tours available Monday-Fridays
Maximum group size: 75 students


Downtown Highlights

Available May-October – $10 per student

Discover the best of Downtown Buffalo in just 60 minutes! This highlights tour is perfect for student groups who want to see the city’s most iconic landmarks and enjoy a fun, engaging introduction to Buffalo’s architectural treasures. Go inside the Ellicott Square Building, learn about St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral and Buffalo’s first skyscraper – the Guaranty Building. You’ll end with a tour inside the lobby of Seneca One, which is filled with unique treasures and great views.

Tour Details: 
Cost: $10 per student
This walking tour is 60 minutes
Maximum group size: 60 students


Buffalo City Hall Tour

Available year-round – just $8 per student
Tour Times Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm

Experience one of Buffalo’s most iconic landmarks—Buffalo City Hall, an Art Deco masterpiece and a hub of local government. This guided interior tour introduces college students to both the architectural significance of the building and the civic responsibilities carried out within its walls.

Tour Details:
Cost: $8 per student
This tour is a 60-minute tour.
Group size limited to 50 students – no exceptions. 

Please Note: observation deck access is at the discretion of City Hall. The observation deck requires three flights of stairs and is not handicapped accessible.


Silo City Ground

Available late May-October – $15 per student

Explore one of Buffalo’s most remarkable historic and industrial sites—Silo City. This interior and exterior walking tour introduces college students to the city’s grain elevators and their role in shaping Buffalo’s economic, cultural, and architectural history.  Walk the expansive grounds and venture inside the iconic silos with our knowledgeable docents. This is a rare opportunity for students to connect history, engineering, and architecture while standing inside the structures that once powered Buffalo’s rise as an industrial hub.

Cost: $15 per student
